A Season of Change

Don’t you just love the fresh greens and sherbet colors of spring? Spring is a season of newness and my soul feels saturated with possibility.

Drip Line

In Florida, we are blessed to have the support of the Institute for Food and Agricultural Services (IFAS) available to us. Using sustainable methods to grow flowers, herbs, and vegetables is important to Millwood Flower Farm. What we put into our soil can leach into the water supply, affecting not only our drinking water, but the health of our beautiful and special springs. With help from my Marion County extension office, this spring my focus is on soil testing so that I can amend the soil to allow Millwood Flower Farm to grow lush, healthy plants. As important, is automating the irrigation. We have always used drip lines to deliver water, and I am working with the water resource agent from the extension office to capitalize on our irrigation system.
